We are pleased to invite schools from all over the world to engage in a groundbreaking initiative school-to-school activity aiming to encourage classrooms collaboration from different parts of the world and the sharing of ideas and good practices among students and teachers.

This proposal will focus on three major themes:

Enviromental protection. Uniting for environmental sustainability. Reaching out with an excellent opportunity to make positive impact on our environment. As educators’ collaboration is the key to creating a more sustainable future. Climate change, pollution, resources depletion all requires collective action. It is possible to pool resources, share expertise and inspire children to become environmental stewards by connecting schools.

Children’s rights at the school. The rights of the children are fundamental, and schools play a critical role in ensuring the respect of this rights, its protection and its fulfillment. Schools can work collectively towards the creation a safe, inclusive learning environment, advocating children’s rights as a noble cause that can benefit from collaboration and shared efforts. With the aim of instilling our students with a sense of justice and creating school environments that truly reflect the principles of children´s rights.

Peace. In a world filled with challenges, the responsibility of schools in training future generations as peace advocates is more important than ever. We can collaboratively contribute to building a culture of peace, tolerance, and harmony; inspiring our students to become peace ambassadors, equipped with the knowledge, values and ideals required to contribute to a more peaceful world.

WHICH INNOVATION WILL YOU FIND IN THIS PROGRAMM OF UNITING SCHOOLS?

Photovoice… or… to make images talk.

Photovoice is a participatory research method used to document and reflect the realities of community members, often with the aim of advocating for change. When applied in educational settings, Photovoice can be a powerful pedagogical tool that engages learners in meaningful, authentic, and transformative learning experiences. Here’s a breakdown of Photovoice as a pedagogical tool and how it can be integrated into the school.

It is based on participatory action research (P.A.R.), that look for the social transformation considering these key elements: participation, planification, strengthening and empowerment. – To this call will follow specific training course about photovoice

The PAR methodology pays attention to emotional wellness because what we feel matters.

Benefits of Using Photovoice in Inclusive Children’s Team Organization:

  1. Expression Beyond Words: Children, especially younger ones, may not always have the vocabulary to articulate their feelings or experiences. Photography provides a medium for them to communicate without the constraints of language.

  2. Empowerment: Giving children a camera and a mission can make them feel valued, heard, and empowered, reinforcing the idea that their perspective matters.

  3. Team Building: Collaborative discussions and reflections on the photos can enhance teamwork and mutual understanding among children.

  4. Enhances Observation Skills: Children learn to observe their environment more keenly and reflect on their experiences.

  5. Cultural and Personal Insights: Children from diverse backgrounds can share insights into their cultures, traditions, and daily lives, promoting intercultural understanding.

TEMPORALIZATION:

This school-to-school initiative will take place over a period of 5-6 months this first time, during which students and teachers from participating schools will have the opportunity to work together on projects/activities relating to the topics mentioned above.
