On 16 November 2021, the Eco School Day was celebrated at the School Grouping of Cuba, and one of the activities held was the hoisting of the Green Flag of the Eco Schools Programme, an initiative that aims to support, encourage and inform the community about the priority that the school gives to environmental education for sustainability, in the comprehensive training of its students. This recognition (awarded worldwide) is both a prize and a responsibility. The moment took place outside AECuba and was attended by representatives of the municipality and parish council, school management, teachers, non-teaching staff and students. The Eco Schools Programme is an international programme promoted by the Foundation for Environmental Education, developed in Portugal since 1996 by the ABAE – European Blue Flag Association.
Other dance activities and performances, prepared by various groups of students, were held to commemorate this day.
