The photovoice technique is a participatory research and action methodology that uses image creation as a tool to access the participants’ refelction. It is a method to access the subjectivity of the learners, to generate a process of awareness and empowerment and at the same time to bring attention to important social aspects.
The child’s eye is capable of grasping details that adults do not see, either through inattention dictated by haste or through getting accustomed to a reality that has been offering, for too long now, the image of our many disrespectful behaviours towards nature.
Children are able to awake our consciences.

During the Schools Plastic Free Movement project, some teachers accepted the challenge to try the photovoice technique with their classes. They invited the children to take pictures of their surroundings, telling their views on nature and pollution. The exchange, which arose during the creation and observation of the shots, has been a valuable opportunity to propose solutions  to the problems generated by adults. A communicative bridge has been created between children and adults, aimed at environmental care.
Here you can admire the works of the young photographers and their reflections.
