The SPEM pedagogical model starts form the theoretical framework for integrated STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics), an educational approach that focuses on solving relevant and authentic problems close to the everyday life of students. It is considered an ideal approach for inclusive education, staying close to students’ interests, focusing on skills development (and not only on concept learning), and making use of learner-centered, hands-on and collaborative methodologies.
